Contrary to public belief we are not reacting to the water. Don't get me
wrong that ish was cold, but our photographer (a friend of ours) was saying
some rather inappropriate things. Fun times!

The Real World...Matt Smith...and The Pope

Thursday, April 28, 2005

So I was talking to Shari just a few minutes ago and somehow we got on the subject of The Real World...Oh I asked her where the new season was going to be. So we were talking about different people that we liked and we got on the topic of Matt Smith (New Orleans, Catholic, Skater type guy). We came across a few web sites that he has like: SupaFlyDotCom NoMoHoDotCom LifeTeenDotCom PornDistroysWomenDotOrg

Reading through these sites just made my dream of opening a Christian Dance Club/Coffee Bar even greater! I definately think this is where my life is supposed to go...and exactly where God is leading me. I am going to go back to school get my GE done and go to APU and get my degree in Christian Ministries I have never been so sure of anything in my life.

There is also this quote up on SupaFly.com by Pope John Paul II:

"It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal."-Pope John Paul II

Matt Smith
This is what Matt Looks Like.

Okay so after reading that quote I got to thinking. When Pope John Paul II died I was shocked (even though we all knew it was coming)... this is the only Pope I have ever known. Regardless of the fact that I am not Catholic this man did so many WONDERFUL things and truly warmed my heart. We lost a truly awesome servant of God. His shoes will be extremely hard to fill. I am not so sure I want them filled... although Pope Benedict XVI will undoubtedly be compared I think he should be his own man and serve God how he sees fit. Pope John Paul II's legacy should not be tried to be duplicated.

You may not be aware of this, but I very narrowly missed becoming the next Pope. This is too bad because I would have taken on a way cooler name than Benedictus the-whatever. To see what name I may have chosen, please check http://groversthoughts.blogspot.com.
