Contrary to public belief we are not reacting to the water. Don't get me
wrong that ish was cold, but our photographer (a friend of ours) was saying
some rather inappropriate things. Fun times!

I love your survey!

Unfortunately, I disagree about billiards and bowling not being sports, but oh well.

And Starting Over is my favorite TV show. I do everything in my power to not miss it. I kid you not.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/05/2005 09:41:00 AM

Carly,
So you think that billiards and bowling are sports or aren't sports?? and I am so sorry you got sucked into starting over... It's a shame you seemed so nice. hehe j/k :þ

By Blogger word., at 5/05/2005 02:34:00 PM

I think billiards and bowling ARE sports. :)

I think it's a shame I got sucked into Starting Over, too. It's definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/05/2005 06:08:00 PM

Ok well I understand then I have been sucked into shows too! Damned Tivo! my guilty pleasure is the bachelor :)

By Blogger word., at 5/05/2005 09:33:00 PM

I have never ever said that bowling was not a sport. I believe that it is. Billiards, on the other hand, is not. At least, it should not be broadcast on ESPN with such frequency. HOW RIDICULOUS!

By Blogger Jonathan, at 5/06/2005 03:57:00 PM

ooh you are in so much trouble!!!!

By Blogger word., at 5/06/2005 04:24:00 PM

I think billiards IS a sport if I'm able to position my little brother's head over the side pocket and try to hit it with the 8-ball.

By Blogger Shari, at 5/06/2005 04:44:00 PM

Oh, and the above comment was said with all of the love that I can muster up for that lil' farker. :-)

By Blogger Shari, at 5/06/2005 04:51:00 PM

WHY WOULD YOU HIT HIS HEAD WITH THE 8-BALL?? HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED POOL??? IF YOU WERE USING HIS HEAD AS A BALL YOU WOULD HIT HIS HEAD WITH A CUE BALL. AMATEURS!!!!

By Blogger word., at 5/06/2005 05:01:00 PM

No, no, noooooooooo! I would like to hit him with an 8-ball so I can leave a nice "8" imprint on his forehead. DUH!! This is a new form of billiards, not your fuddy duddy version of pool.

By Blogger Shari, at 5/06/2005 10:23:00 PM

Ok billiards lesson #2 the balls are smooth the only mark it would leave on Jonathan's head would be the round mark from the speedy velocity the ball was traveling at not an 8. :þ

By Blogger word., at 5/06/2005 10:39:00 PM

I am very disturbed by all this talk of balls hitting me in the face... VERY! Please cease and desist at once.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/06/2005 10:43:00 PM

i don't understand... you should only be worried if we were talking about hitting you in the head with Grover's balls... I heard they were made of steel... I ♥ you Jonathan. :)

By Blogger word., at 5/06/2005 10:51:00 PM

Bowling is NOT a sport. Anything that frequently involves drinking and smoking during it's participation cannot be considered a sport.

Also, please do not discuss my balls on this blog ever again. They are very private and very special to me. And yes, by the way, they are made of steel.

By Blogger Brent, at 5/06/2005 11:38:00 PM

"And yes, by the way, they are made of steel." This coming from a piece of blue felt that thinks Billy Gilman rocks...

By Blogger Jonathan, at 5/07/2005 10:46:00 AM

I'm pretty sure billiards involves more smoking and drinking than bowling does, Grover. Anyway, I'm partial to billiards and bowling (my mom has been on pool leagues since before I was born and my grandparents are both on bowling teams and have been for forever). I guess I consider them sports because they're competitive, they involve strategy, and they require SOME physical activity. So, I guess that means Texas Hold 'Em is a sport, too. lol...

Now I'm curious. Do you all think of cheerleading as a sport?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/07/2005 05:58:00 PM

Hell yes those girls are fierce!!! I dare anyone to tell a cheerleader that it isn't a sport...

By Blogger word., at 5/07/2005 07:06:00 PM

I am so glad you said that! I was a cheerleader and so was Mary and I have a feeling we would have some good ammo for anyone who says it's not a sport. :)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/07/2005 09:49:00 PM

I'll take that dare and say it's definitley NOT a sport... I love causing trouble.

By Blogger Jonathan, at 5/07/2005 11:19:00 PM

You are so dead!!! Mary and Carly don't worry his ass is grass oh yeah and I am the lawn mower.... Just for you ladies :þ

By Blogger word., at 5/08/2005 07:25:00 PM

I was just thinking about this subject today and am pretty sure I had more injuries during my three years of cheerleading than I did during my seven years of track & field. :) Go me.
